Pierre-Louis Barassi and Temo Matiu make first starts of championship, as Flament and Meafou return to second row

France’s Six Nations 2026 squad would have been hoping to be facing England in Paris with a Grand Slam on the line.

Defeat to Scotland last weekend dashed those plans, but they head into Super Saturday knowing they’re in pole position for a second successive Six Nations trophy – and well aware they’ll know exactly what they need to do on the night, with Ireland v Scotland kicking off earlier in the day.

Head coach Fabien Galthié has stuck with the core of the XV that has served him well throughout the tournament – though he has made four changes to the starting line-up. He’s continued his habit of switching between second-row partnerships – this week it’s the turn of Thibaud Flament and Emmanuel Meafou to start.

There’s also an international debut for flanker Temo Matiu, while Pierre-Louis Barassi makes his first start of this year’s championship in the centres.

Barassi is the only change to the backs division. Thomas Ramos again starts at full-back, alongside wings Théo Attissogbe and Louis Bielle-Biarrey, while scrum-half and captain Antoine Dupont partners number 10 Matthieu Jalibert. Yoram Moefana continues at inside centre.

Jean-Baptiste Gros, Julien Marchand and Dorian Aldegheri resume their front row partnership, with Flament and Meafou at lock. Anthony Jelonch retains the number 8 shirt, with François Cros and Matiu either side of him on the flanks.

France stick with their now-standard 6-2 split on the bench. The replacements are Peato Mauvaka, Rodrigue Neti, Demba Bamba, Hugo Auradou, Mickael Guillard, Joshua Brennan, Baptiste Serin, and Émilien Gailleton.

France v England kicks off at 8.10pm GMT on Saturday 14 March, with live coverage on ITV1 and ITVX in the UK, and RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player in Ireland.
