New Zealand need no introduction and the way they swatted Ireland aside 26-13 in Chicago last weekend is an ominous sign for Scottish fans.

Scotland v New Zealand match preview
Scotland inflicted a huge win over the USA last weekend, defeating them 86-0 at Murrayfield. A fine performance but this weekend’s opponents will be a completely different test.
The All Blacks come back from Chicago having beat Ireland 26-13. An interesting element to this weekend’s game is the impact of travel for New Zealand.
The All Blacks have been hit with a few injuries to key players with Jordie Barrett and brother and Scott ruled out. The head coach Scott Robertson said of Jordie Barrett that he took knocks to his “high ankle” area “and a bit of a knee” against Ireland. Meanwhile skipper Scot Barrett cut his leg in the game which the coach described as “a decent one, a little sprig above his knee” before confirming he would not be available for the Scotland fixture.
Scotland, meanwhile, came through their game generally unscathed and so Gregor Townsend’s men may have extra confidence about a potentially famous win.
The hosts have never beaten New Zealand in their 120-year history. The two closest occasions came when playing in Scotland. Those games ended in draws in 1983 and 1964. Of the 32 games contested between the two nations, the All Blacks have won 30 times.
New Zealand assistant coach Jason Holland told the BBC: “Any test for the All Blacks, you’re massively motivated to make sure you win, but the history and the legacy behind that, those numbers are pretty massive. We don’t want to be part of a team that helps the Scottish break that.”
Scotland, on the other hand, will be looking to write themselves into the history books as they hope to get one over the All Blacks for the first time ever.
